the year 2000 it was told that a lady wanted to make dolls that look like humans. So she took a ordinary play doll and painted it with oil paint. Then she took a Felting needle and rooted the hair. This is when eBay was starting out. And put the beautiful doll on eBay. And with that started the Reborn baby dolls revolution.

Reborn as can be made from play dolls. You start by taking the doll apart stripping down the factory paint. Then you start painting the doll the way you want it to look. This takes many hours to do. On average for me it takes a week for me to paint my dolls. A play doll takes more time. Because you first have to strip the paint off, then you have to sand it head down. You only have to do this to remove the three-dimensional lines of hair.

Many people misunderstand reborning, some people think that people start to do this because they mourn a death of a child. Some people call them dead babies. Then you have the others that are obsessed with them. They treat them like real babies. There is nothing wrong with your beliefs. But remember one thing they are still only dolls. They are little pieces of art that take many, many hours, day or even weeks to create.

So please don't think that these are just toys to buy. They are pieces of art and unique in every way. Perfection takes time.
